Trains run every 3 or 4 minutes from Vauxhall (platform 8) to Clapham Junction for connections for most of South and South-West England:- ideal for a day out at the seaside. Other trains run north (to Kings Cross, Luton & Bedford) and south (to Wimbledon & Sutton) from Elephant and Castle.
International connections from Vauxhall (platform 7) via Waterloo International mean that you can reach a large number of European destinations - as far as Barcelona, Copenhagen and Wien (Vienna) - within one day by train by changing at Lille, Paris or Brussels. Earliest arrival times in nearby cities are approximately as follows:- Paris 0920, Brussels 0940, Koln (Cologne) 1240, Amsterdam 1340.
Day travelcards are particularly good value, offering unlimited travel on tubes, buses, railways and the Docklands Light Railway. Prices start at £3.10 for an adult and no charge for a child (if travelling together at weekends or after 0930 on weekdays) for the whole of zones 1 & 2 (from Fulham in the west to Greenwich in the east).
New tram link for Kennington? Transport for London are planning a Cross River Transit scheme incorporating a new tram line from Euston and Waterloo Bridge down Kennington Lane and then past the Oval and through to Clapham.
